BCAA (Branched-chain amino acids) are branched-chain amino acids which, as the name suggests, are characterized by a branched side chain. BCAAs include amino acids such as L-leucine, L-isoleucine and L-valine. These are exogenous compounds that must be supplied to the body from the outside, either with the daily menu or in the form of dietary supplements, as the body is not capable of synthesizing them on its own. BCAAs make up about ⅓ of the proteins that build muscle tissue, and the site of their breakdown, unlike other amino acids, is mainly skeletal muscle, which makes branched-chain amino acids readily used by physically active people.
L-glutamine, on the other hand, is a protein amino acid that can be formed naturally in the body, but when the human body shows an increased need for the valuable compound, such as during intense physical activity, the ingredient is also worth supplying to the body from the outside, along with the daily menu or in the form of dietary supplements.
