OstroVit L-Carnitine - a source of valuable compound

L-carnitine is an organic chemical compound classified as a vitamin-like substance. It is a dipeptide, which is formed by amino acids such as methionine and lysine. The compound occurs naturally in the human body - the intra-corporeal production of L-carnitine takes place in the liver and kidneys, and the substance is accumulated primarily in the heart muscle and skeletal muscles. L-carnitine can also be supplied to the body with food and the compound derived from food is characterized by high bioavailability - its source is considered to be animal products - meat, fish, milk and dairy products. Dietary supplements that contain the substance can be helpful among athletes and people who are distinguished by increased demand for L-carnitine.

L-carnitine can come in different forms. OstroVit uses L-carnitine tartrate, a form that shows a faster rate of absorption than other available forms of the compound, which can be especially valuable among physically active people.

WARNING: The taste and smell of OstroVit L-Carnitine is not the most pleasant. These are the natural sensory characteristics of L-carnitine tartrate product, which does not testify to its poor quality or deterioration.

The product has strong hygroscopic properties (strongly absorbs moisture). The formation of clumps or uniform (compact) consistency is not a sign of loss of product properties. In this case, the product must be crushed anew.

About the labeling of allergens in product ingredients

We would like to draw your attention to important information regarding product labeling, especially in light of the growing issue of allergies in both children and adults. In accordance with European Union legislation, which came into effect in 2014, there is a list of 14 allergens that must be clearly labeled on the packaging of food products. These allergens include eggs, milk, fish, crustaceans, mollusks, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame seeds, gluten, soybeans, celery, mustard, lupin, and sulfites. If any of these allergens are present in the product, they must be highlighted separately from other text.

However, there is an important clarification we would like to emphasize. In cases where the product you are purchasing may have come into accidental contact with other allergens (cross-contamination), manufacturers may voluntarily provide information about the potential risk of allergen presence. Cross-contamination can occur at various stages, including during product manufacturing, transportation, storage, and food preparation.

Therefore, if you find a label on the packaging that reads "May contain...," "Produced in a facility that processes other ingredients containing allergens," or a similar notification, it does not necessarily mean that the specific allergen is part of the product's ingredients. This warning is for your safety and serves as a reminder of potential risk for those who have allergies.

It's worth noting that, since this labeling is voluntary, the absence of such labeling on a product does not guarantee the complete absence of cross-contamination with allergens. Similarly, the presence of a notification does not necessarily mean that allergens are mandatory ingredients in the product.

We recommend carefully reading the information on the packaging and following the usage recommendations for products. Your health and safety are important to us.
