OstroVit Omega 3-6-9 - a source of valuable unsaturated fatty acids
Omega 3 fatty acids are essential fatty acids that are not synthesized in the human body, which is why they must be supplied to the body with the daily diet or, if necessary, in the form of supplements. OstroVit preparation uses both alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which can be found primarily in linseed oil, as well as eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), i.e. compounds, which source is mainly fatty sea fish.
Omega 6 fatty acids are compounds belonging to the group of essential fatty acids that are part of cell membranes. OstroVit Omega 3-6-9 supplement uses linoleic acid (LA), derived from sunflower oil and flax seeds, which can also be found in other vegetable oils, e.g. grape seed oil.
Omega 9 fatty acids are unsaturated fats, which representative (used in OstroVit product) is oleic acid (OA). The main dietary source of the compound is olive oil, although oleic acid is also found in rapeseed oil, hazelnut oil, sunflower seed oil or flax seeds.
Vitamin E is a group of organic chemical compounds, classified as fat-soluble vitamins, among which the greatest biological activity is shown by D-alpha-tocopherol used in the preparation. It is a compound that in the human body is stored primarily in adipose tissue, as well as in the adrenal glands. In food, however, it occurs mainly in vegetable oils, nuts, seeds.
Properties of ingredients contained in OstroVit Omega 3-6-9:
Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) present in the dietary supplement contribute to the normal functioning of the heart and beneficial effects occur when consuming 250 mg of EPA and DHA per day.
Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) used in the preparation supports the proper functioning of the brain and contributes to maintaining proper vision and beneficial effect occurs when consuming 250 mg of DHA per day.
Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and linoleic acid (LA) used in the product helps to maintain optimal blood cholesterol levels, and beneficial effects occur when consuming 2 g of ALA and 10 g of LA per day.
Oleic acid is also present in the supplement, so it is worth knowing that replacing saturated fats with unsaturated fats in the diet helps to maintain normal blood cholesterol levels. Oleic acid is an unsaturated fat. In turn, vitamin E used in the preparation helps to protect cells against oxidative stress.
ATTENTION! Due to the high content of fish oil, the product is characterized by a fishy smell.

About the labeling of allergens in product ingredients
About the labeling of allergens in product ingredients
We would like to draw your attention to important information regarding product labeling, especially in light of the growing issue of allergies in both children and adults. In accordance with European Union legislation, which came into effect in 2014, there is a list of 14 allergens that must be clearly labeled on the packaging of food products. These allergens include eggs, milk, fish, crustaceans, mollusks, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame seeds, gluten, soybeans, celery, mustard, lupin, and sulfites. If any of these allergens are present in the product, they must be highlighted separately from other text.
However, there is an important clarification we would like to emphasize. In cases where the product you are purchasing may have come into accidental contact with other allergens (cross-contamination), manufacturers may voluntarily provide information about the potential risk of allergen presence. Cross-contamination can occur at various stages, including during product manufacturing, transportation, storage, and food preparation.
Therefore, if you find a label on the packaging that reads "May contain...," "Produced in a facility that processes other ingredients containing allergens," or a similar notification, it does not necessarily mean that the specific allergen is part of the product's ingredients. This warning is for your safety and serves as a reminder of potential risk for those who have allergies.
It's worth noting that, since this labeling is voluntary, the absence of such labeling on a product does not guarantee the complete absence of cross-contamination with allergens. Similarly, the presence of a notification does not necessarily mean that allergens are mandatory ingredients in the product.
We recommend carefully reading the information on the packaging and following the usage recommendations for products. Your health and safety are important to us.
