OstroVit Pharma Omega 3 500/250 30 capsules is a product available in the form of easy-to-swallow softgel capsules.

Omega-3 fatty acids - essential fatty acids (EFAs)

Omega-3 fatty acids are essential polyunsaturated fatty acids, among which we can distinguish, among i.a., eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). They are naturally found in food, in products such as fatty sea fish, seafood or caviar.

As a result of consuming significant amounts of highly processed foods, saturated fatty acids are increasingly dominant in the human body instead of unsaturated forms of the compound. Thus, omega-3 acids are considered one of the most deficient fats in the human diet. Since replacing saturated fats with unsaturated fats in the diet helps to maintain normal blood cholesterol levels [mono- and polyunsaturated fatty acids are unsaturated fats], it is worth paying attention to the appropriate ratio of consumed fats and increasing the supply of essential fatty acids, including omega-3 acids in the daily diet.

Properties of ingredients contained in OstroVit Pharma Omega 3:

  • Both eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) contribute to the normal functioning of the heart.
  • DHA and EPA help maintain normal blood pressure and also help maintain normal blood triglyceride levels.
  • Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function.
  • Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) contributes to the maintenance of normal vision.

ATTENTION! Due to the high content of fish oil, the product is characterized by a fishy smell.

About the labeling of allergens in product ingredients

We would like to draw your attention to important information regarding product labeling, especially in light of the growing issue of allergies in both children and adults. In accordance with European Union legislation, which came into effect in 2014, there is a list of 14 allergens that must be clearly labeled on the packaging of food products. These allergens include eggs, milk, fish, crustaceans, mollusks, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame seeds, gluten, soybeans, celery, mustard, lupin, and sulfites. If any of these allergens are present in the product, they must be highlighted separately from other text.

However, there is an important clarification we would like to emphasize. In cases where the product you are purchasing may have come into accidental contact with other allergens (cross-contamination), manufacturers may voluntarily provide information about the potential risk of allergen presence. Cross-contamination can occur at various stages, including during product manufacturing, transportation, storage, and food preparation.

Therefore, if you find a label on the packaging that reads "May contain...," "Produced in a facility that processes other ingredients containing allergens," or a similar notification, it does not necessarily mean that the specific allergen is part of the product's ingredients. This warning is for your safety and serves as a reminder of potential risk for those who have allergies.

It's worth noting that, since this labeling is voluntary, the absence of such labeling on a product does not guarantee the complete absence of cross-contamination with allergens. Similarly, the presence of a notification does not necessarily mean that allergens are mandatory ingredients in the product.

We recommend carefully reading the information on the packaging and following the usage recommendations for products. Your health and safety are important to us.
