Vitamin E is a group of organic chemical compounds, classified as fat-soluble vitamins. It is a compound that in the human body is stored primarily in the adipose tissue and also in the adrenal glands. Vitamin E is a substance that helps protect cells from oxidative stress.
Natural tocopherols - a group of fat-soluble organic chemicals. They come in different forms and exhibit different properties and different biological activity. OstroVit uses four isoforms of tocopherols, such as d-gamma-tocopherol, d-alpha-tocopherol, d-delta-tocopherol and d-beta-tocopherol. Tocopherols are found primarily in vegetable oils, such as sunflower, corn or safflower oil, and in smaller quantities they can also be found in nuts, vegetables or cereal products.
Plant squalene is a polyunsaturated hydrocarbon, which is a non-polar substance. It is an isoprene compound that shows similarity to carotenes and coenzyme Q10. Squalene is obtained primarily from shark liver, whereas plant squalene is a compound derived from vegetable oils (e. g. olive oil) or amaranth.
Phytosterol is a sterol produced by plants. It's a polycyclic alcohol that exhibits a structural similarity to cholesterol, and the difference in the structure of the compounds concerns only the side chain. Phytosterol can be found in all plant tissues, but the richest sources of the substance are seed oils, such as corn oil and sesame oil.
Beta-carotene is a provitamin A, an organic chemical compound of plant origin that occurs naturally in food. It belongs to the group of carotenoids, which are plant dyes. As a non-polar molecule, slightly soluble in water, but great in fats. Beta-carotene can be found in vegetables and fruits such as carrots, kale, peppers and melon.
Coenzyme Q10, called ubiquinone, is a vitamin-like compound that is fat-soluble. In small amounts, it can be produced naturally in the human body, but its levels decrease with age.
